Who we need!

Flying Star needs the right candidate to be able to Lead and manage its terminal freight operations and administrative functions in order to exceed customer expectations.

Maintaining efficient and fluid terminal operations by:

• Planning, organizing, managing, and directing all terminal associates.
• Partnering with the sales department, dispatch, and customer support.
• Being accountable for the terminal's financial aspects, including revenue attainment, cost control, and profit improvements.
• Assuring all DVIR and other records are maintained as required.
• Maintaining rack authorizations for all drivers.

Maintaining an effective and efficient driver pool by:

• Developing trainers and drivers and assuring their focus is on meeting and/or exceeding all goals.
• Coordinating with Human Resources, Safety, and Recruiting in personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures.
• Routinely riding with drivers to assure they are fully trained.
• Maintain the duty schedule in KeepTrucking system.
• Approving time-off requests and communicating approved requests with Human Resources and Dispatch.

Ensure all safety and DOT compliance measures are followed by:

• Documenting and following up with all incidents, accidents, and injuries with guidance from the Human Resource and the Safety departments.
• Managing the terminal's safety, security, and loss prevention procedures in accordance with company, OSHA, FMCSA, PHMSA, and DOT guidelines.
• Maintaining the appropriate inventory of PPE and spill response gear.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 2 years of proven leadership experience in a related field Working knowledge of the transportation industry, DOT rules and regulations, OSHA laws, and Hazardous Materials regulations Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers. High school diploma or equivalent
